30 Days into Intermittent Fasting

We can't believe it's been 30 days since we started this journey! It has gone by so fast and it honestly hasn't been too hard to maintain. The biggest challenge we faced was not being able to eat after a tough workout in the morning. It felt like we hadn't eaten in an entire day! The fix to that was just filling up on water, a LOT of water!

Did you ever cheat?

Yes, we did cheat one day. Our friends were coming over for dinner and they were only able to arrive around 7-7:30pm (which is usually when we stop eating). We tried our best to hold off on eating lunch till 1pm to give us more time to eat in the evening. That was when we made the Italian dinner for 6. It definitely isn't the healthiest thing we could have eaten so we did go over our calorie limit a little. There were some days that we ended up having to work later (till around 8pm) and we did have to eat late, but we stuck to a healthy meal.

What surprised you?

We never read too much into the nutritional information on food, we thought we had a basic understanding to what is healthy and what's not. I was really surprised at how many grams of calories, sugar, carbs, and sodium were in some of our favorite foods! It really made us think twice about ordering our favorite pizza or eating out.

What was the biggest change you saw?

In just a week we could tell that our body had started to tone up! We did feel a lot healthier and less lethargic. Most importantly we are now more aware of what we put into our bodies.

Here's a before and after photo of Ruthie at the beginning and at around day 25. Our goal was not to loose weight, rather to tone. Comment below on how your journey is going, we'd love to hear about it.

Thanks Thilannana! We are continuing this till we head home in a couple weeks. It is pretty hard to resist our Mom's cooking but the plan is to pick it right back up when we get back!

Woah that change is pretty drastic for just 25 days. And you were pretty tone to begin with too. Are you guys still keeping up this diet? If not how long did you continue it for?
